Study tips only work after you lock your phone. Once distractions are gone, laziness and tiredness start reducing on their own.
Yes, we do have tips to overcome tiredness — but first, you need to create distraction-free time. That means locking your phone and protecting focused hours.

Recalling is the Key for Exams

Recalling is done by:

  • ->Problem solving : Answers which has to be solved multiple times with different numbers/data and by Identify patterns.
  • ->Recalling facts : Answers which are in form of facts.
  • ->Recalling Concepts : Answers which are in form of understanding concept.

Important : Do all recalling without looking at the answer.

  1. Problem Solving.
    • ->Easier in morning golden hour, first hour immediately after you wake up n freshen up.
    • ->Look into phone even a minute, it's gone, new things fill up mind.
  2. Recalling Facts :
    • ->Requires repetation to strengthen memory.
  3. Recalling Concepts :
    • ->Needs deep understanding of topics, concepts and basics.
    • ->Just repitation may not be enough to recall - you must understand first.

Studying needs technique n plans

Ask yourself :

  1. ) what to study ?
  2. ) how much time you have, including :
    • ->Finding answers
    • ->Studying answers (solving / understanding)
    • ->Recalling answers
    • ->Spaced repetition, depending on how well you had focused and prepared.

Remember : There is forgetting curve and its different for everyone.

Studying at night -Good or Bad?

  • -> once in a while for a change its okay.
  • ->But you will miss golden hour and natural cycle.

Feeling sleepy while studying.

  • ->Sleepiness is natural.
  • ->Could be tiredness or actual lack of sleep.

Solution:

  • ->Daily sleep for 7-9 hrs according to your natural cycle, so that you are sure that feeling sleepy is due to stress or tiredness.
  • ->For stress and tiredness depending on how much effort you put, it happens once in 25mins - 1 hr.

>Keep clock, timer or stopwatch while studying.
>Wash face and Go outside on walk if u feel sleepy, bcos it's tiredness not lack of sleep. A 5 to 15 mins break with alteast 3 mins walk outside you can easily recharge for next 25 mins - 1 Hr session.

Listening to songs while studying - good or bad ?

  • ->It's bad, it's distraction while studying.
  • -> It might help some to start studying. But it has to be stopped immediately after you gain momentum to study for current session.

How to widen the gap between spaced repitation.

  • ->Understand well in class.
  • ->Stay calm and open to receiving new information.
  • ->Make proper notes :
    >make small note of understanding(summary)
    >also note the doubts (same doubts appear again after few weeks),
    >make note of key phrases (phrases which make you remember whole answer or concept, they trigger whole answers if you have prepared well and recalled earlier).

How to start studying - sometimes boring - sometimes hard - sometimes lazy

Boring:

  • -> Caused by high dopamine base levels.

      Everything feels boring.
      Reset required.
      >Don't scroll/ touch phone before starting or start studying 15 mins after you have scrolled.
      >sit and stare wall for 5 mins without doing anything, you would get so bored that studying would feel more interesting.

Hard :

  • -> Due to lack of understanding.

      >Break it into smaller parts and try again.
      >Start with easy 80% (think only 20% can be difficult for a person, so start with easy 80 percent).
      >Try during golden hour.
      >Still hard ? Ask for help (parents, seniors, YouTube videos, teachers).
      >Fix daily routine for *sleeping *waking up, *minimum daily studying /recalling time and duration and make it feel automatic. Like morning 6-7 or 7-8 am is daily maths and evening 6-7pm(on week days). Recall no matter what.

Lazy - Laziness is because you don't have goal and a to do list and deadlines

  • ->Have a goal, attach few emotions to it. Attach few motivation lines to it. Then write steps to make it happen. Break goal into monthly small doable small goals.
  • ->Create daily to do list. Note : Try to make daily to do list like automatic not needing to create to do lists every day. Be practical, make time for homework, take account of 5-15 mins break to refresh. Also keep buffer but no tasks to be left undone. You miss two days it forms habit of missing goals.

      Example :
      >Morning 45 mins daily, solve 2 problems (minimum) to whole set of problems (maximum).
      >Evening 45 mins daily, recalling 5 - 9 answers (1-2 page each).

  • -> Deadlines : Create deadlines for tasks.

      Note : If there is excess time , Revise again or create artificial deadlines. Example : create a timetable of exam schedule which is 3 weeks before. (u stay on same weekday and exam dates appear closer, giving a sense of urgency and you could use the excess time well)

Additional tips -

  • ->Create time for yourself by locking phone.
  • ->Review your plans n progress.
  • ->Do check for improvement but avoid endless "searching without action".
  • ->Once you install Locks4phone there shouldn't be any zero day in your life. Night lock session is for better sleep, overall health - mentally physically. But morning lock session and evening lock session should be for real work.
  • ->Check your progress regularly, take tests seriously.
  • ->Take weekend breaks for meeting relatives n friends. (listening to slow songs, having a hobby, self discipline, good laughs with friends, strong purpose, team activities - keeps you away from addiction). Whenever you are stressed, speaking to someone about your problem would give you peace. No need to tell your secrets if it's not necessary, but do speak about your stress.

Is writing answers better for Recalling.

  • ->Your notes, your handwriting is easier to read and more organized. Writing many times to remember is not necessary. Vocal recitation would be sufficient for recalling facts.

Note : Vocal recitation cant be applied to maths.

Maths - Problem solving has to be in writing only. Don't read maths, solve by writing without looking at answer. Solve by understanding. Use Golden hours. Same for coding - don't just read, code in real.
